In this call we discussed how we all emotionally eat and how to get to the roots of the emotional upsets that drive the need to eat when we’re not hungry.
Specifically, we walked through the door of having a “time of day” that tends to be a problem for you. Do you eat when you get home from work? Or maybe it’s after the kids are gone to bed? Or maybe you just eat extra large portions at dinner time?
Whatever your “problem time” is, we start releasing the emotional resistance that prevents it from dissolving. Please feel free to share the audio!
If you’ve read any of my story, you may know that I’ve had a special relationship with food for most of my life. It began with emotional eating, struggles with my weight and the low self-esteem that went along with it all. For me, being a fat kid shaped me in very unpleasant ways and as a result I’ve spent most of my adult life seeking out tools and information that would heal that damage and let me become the person I always wanted to be.
Don’t get me wrong. There are plenty of areas for me to continue learning and growing but I can honestly say I love my life now. I love and appreciate my body, I do work that fulfills me and I have tools that I feel can help me navigate ANY challenge that life throws my way. Learning about food and eating has been, and continues to be, a pivotal part of that journey that I want to share with you today.
Think about someone you admire; whether that’s a teacher, the head of your company, your yoga instructor or a friend or family member. Now think about what they eat. Very often (not always), highly functioning people, the people we admire and emulate, do their best to eat well. They seem to have different programming than the majority of people which insists on a level of self-care that supports health and the successful lifestyle they’ve carved out for themselves.
I’ve often noticed that it doesn’t seem to matter which area of life they begin to excel in first, whether that’s athletics, business, academia etc, sooner or later they get food figured out. I think it’s safe to say that the smartest, most successful leaders in this world eat well. Of course, the specifics of the diet will vary a lot based on what their own experiences have taught them about what constitutes a healthy diet, but there’s no question that they are putting some effort into avoiding junk, processed foods and eating whole foods. It may be vegetarian, macrobiotic, vegan, mediterranean or paleo/ancestral, but the fact remains, they are putting effort into eating well because they know that what they eat influences how they think, how they move and how able they are to live the life they want to live.
For me it all started with food.
I’ve never been a high achiever. I was pretty average really. I did well in school without trying too hard, I didn’t care much about getting amazing grades or getting into a good school. I had dreams and aspirations like most kids, but they weren’t terribly compelling and honestly, having fun was more of a priority. As a result of a stupid teenage attitude, I didn’t finish my last three credits in my grade thirteen year. I got my high school diploma, and I was accepted at university for a dramatic arts program, but when actually going to school meant leaving my boyfriend (that I ended up breaking up with two years later anyway) and going to a strange, scary city to pursue something that didn’t really fire me up, I opted out. Everyone in my life was expecting me to go to university, but honestly I was lazy, misguided and afraid. You see I still had the “fat programming” that was constantly telling me I wasn’t good enough. I was convinced that having a few extra pounds would never fly if I wanted to be in show business, and the thought of getting there and being told that I needed to lose weight in order to be successful was too painful to even contemplate.
So, instead of going off to university I worked a year in the fast food industry, gained another fifteen pounds and then got a job working in a factory.
Of course, being that I had a weight problem, controlling food and exercise had been part of my experience from the age of 16, but it’s not as though I had mastered food, or anything about myself through my rigorous diet and exercise attempts. No, back then I was dieting and exercising because I hated my body and NEEDED it to change. That’s not at all the same as being in charge of your life and choosing to take care of yourself with food and proper movement because of an innate sense of self-worth.
But eventually, after years of personal growth work and with huge thanks to EFT, my self-hatred was replaced with self-love and self-respect.
I recall standing in my kitchen, looking at the advertisements for the International Organization of Nutritional Consultants in the back of an Alive magazine and feeling the spark of wanting to “be more”. Maybe it was because I had an interest in nutrition due to my weight battle, or maybe it was because the “I’m not good enough” pattern convinced me that I could never be a mainstream dietitian and this path seemed easier, but whatever it was, I felt that I finally had some clear desire and direction in my life.
So, within the year I was enrolled in a holistic nutrition course.
I don’t think much changed right away. Sure, I had some direction now and I had found something that interested and inspired me enough that I was an excellent self-directed student. But it wasn’t until I had been applying my new found nutrition knowledge for a while that my attitude and self-confidence began to change.
Food made me a better person. When I made the decisions to eat whole, live, unprocessed foods more of the time, I became nicer. I became smarter. I became more empathetic. I grew up.
You could argue that all of that would have happened anyway, but I don’t think so. I have a pretty clear image of the person I would be today if I hadn’t learned about nutrition. For one, I’d probably be obese. That in itself would have a ripple effect on my psyche and confidence that would’ve kept me in a prison. I’d most likely still be working my factory job. I might even still be married to my first husband, not that he’s a bad guy, but I was a different person when I married him.
I most certainly wouldn’t have become a holistic nutritionist, and then a sports nutritionist, and then a personal trainer, and then a Reiki practitioner and then an EFT practitioner. I wouldn’t have become a volunteer firefighter, and I wouldn’t have found CrossFit. My life would be a sad, pale comparison to the life I have today. It’s true. Food changed my life.
And it can change yours.
When you start by making choices about what you put in your mouth you have the potential to improve your life on at least a dozen other fronts. Learning that you have the ability to make a difference to how you feel every day is so empowering that it can’t help but ripple out into other areas of your life.
Here are just a few of the benefits of a whole food, healthy diet:
Improved cognitive function and concentration
Improved energy levels
Improved skin, hair and nails
And those are just the physical benefits. Improving the quality of food you eat also brings you into connection with the local farmers and growers that produce your food, enhances your sense of community and supports your local economy. Spending more time preparing your whole foods diet can improve relationships with your children and spouse and give you a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. If you can grow your own food, you’ll be supporting a more sustainable food supply and improving our environment. It also gives you control over your own food and the act of gardening reduces stress and can even give you a stronger sense of being connected to nature and improve your spirituality. Nurturing yourself with good food can be the first step in finding a sense of self-worth that will give you the strength and confidence to pursue your dreams and aspirations. Always wanted to do your masters? Start with food. Always wanted to run a marathon? Start with food. Want to improve your relationships with your kids or spouse? Start with food. Want to be more successful in your career? Start with food.
It can ALL start with food.
So, what are you going to eat today?
My name is Ellie and I’m an emotional eater.
A few years ago, that sentence might have evoked huge shame for me, but these days it’s more like a “so what?…. aren’t most people?”
I started emotional eating very young. We were a typical family. I was the youngest of three and the only girl. From the time I was about nine years old, coming home to an empty house for a couple of hours after school wasn’t unusual. My after-school routine started to become a problem then. It was nothing for me to eat a cup and a half of peanut butter, slathered in corn syrup. I would put it in a cereal bowl, stir it up and eat it with a spoon while I watched “Three’s Company” and “Golden Girls”. Or I would hoard cookies. Mom had a very reasonable two-cookie rule; “one for each hand was all anyone needed”. But I wasn’t satisfied with two cookies. I wasn’t satisfied with six cookies. I could easily eat a dozen or more. The only thing that would stop me was a stomach ache, and even then, the moment the stomach ache began to lift I’d be back in the cookie tin.
I guess I realized I was an emotional eater in high school. At least that’s when I first tried to stop. If you’ve read my story, you know the whole bit about the chocolate bars, the binging, the Slim-Fast. It was an emotional eating nightmare that would continue, despite my most valiant efforts, for close to 20 years.
These days I’m not eating bowls of peanut butter and corn syrup to soothe my empty heart, but that doesn’t mean that the siren song of food is a thing of the past.
One night, in the not so distant past I was driving home on a Friday night. I was driving home to an empty house; AGAIN. It was a hard period of my life. An intense love affair had ended and over the course of the weeks prior I had been working with one of my trusted spiritual advisers to help me clear out the patterns that this loss was illuminating for me.
Weekends have always been a trigger for me. I didn’t know that on this particular Friday night, but I certainly know it now. As I was driving home thinking about what I could eat for dinner, I decided that a fast-food salad wasn’t a bad idea. I truly don’t think a fast-food salad is a bad idea once in a while, so that’s not the emotional eating part. On the way to the fast-food joint I also decided that a small order of fries wouldn’t be terribly detrimental to my healthy eating plan. Again, I truly don’t think that a small order of french fries is a problem, once in a while. It became obvious that it was a problem the NEXT night. Saturday night.
I don’t know about you, but Friday and Saturday nights are steeped in the energy of fun, family, relaxation and good times for me. And I was having NONE of that. In fact, I hadn’t had any of that in almost a year. I had been spending the vast majority of my time alone. It wasn’t a problem through the week. I was working, I had stuff to do, so I kept my head down and marched on. The weekends were a different story though. I didn’t realize it at the time, but every weekend was torture. Going home to an empty house, eating dinner alone, binge watching Game of Thrones and having a bath was NOT adequately replacing the love, fun and family connections I so deeply yearned for. It still doesn’t.
Enter french fries. Friday night, I was still fairly oblivious to the fact that I had reached for the fries in order to quell my loneliness. Saturday night was a different story. It started out innocently enough. I thought the salad from the night before had been pretty tasty and it seemed like that might be a good solution to my Saturday night “what’s for dinner” dilemma as well. Of course, I was resolved not to order fries this time. Having them once is justifiable, not obsessive, not imbalanced, just an order of fries, no big deal. Having them two nights in a row, that’s something completely different and I knew it, or at least my subconscious knew it.
So there I was, ordering my salad through the drive-through and then out of my mouth pop the words “and a small fry please”. As I was driving away, munching on the cold, greasy fries I thought to myself “okay, what’s going on?”
It was SOO obvious. The moment I turned my attention to the fact that I was emotionally eating I knew exactly why. Even though I hadn’t admitted it out loud to myself yet, I knew I was alone, I was lonely and I wasn’t having any fun.
I got home and plopped myself down at my kitchen table to eat my salad. As I was eating, my eye fell on a sheet of paper, with my own loose scribbles on it. They were the notes from my last session with my EFT practitioner. It said;
“There is a level of pain that comes from being alone that is intolerable to you”.
When she had uttered those words in our session I thought “okay, that’s interesting” but it didn’t really strike me as being true. Anyone looking at me from the outside would see that I’m pretty capable of being alone, and I’m alone a lot. But I’ve been doing this work long enough to know that our psyche doesn’t allow access to that kind of deep vulnerability and truth very readily, especially when you’re sitting face to face with another human being, so I was willing to explore the possibility that being alone was a deep-seated fear for me that I was in denial about.
In that moment, the truth of her words struck me with the power of a hundred lightning bolts. INTOLERABLE didn’t just mean uncomfortable or hard. It meant NOT DOABLE. God, no wonder I wanted french fries. I sat at the table and cried…and cried…and poured a bath…and cried some more.
Long story short, I did about two hours of self-analysis and EFT tapping in that bathtub about loneliness. What it meant, where it came from, how I tried to stuff it down with food and how I could feel connected instead. It was enlightening to say the least. I felt like I left 39 years-worth of hurt and rejection in that bathtub, but I got out feeling more than a little beaten and bruised by the process.
So, do I still want to eat on Friday and Saturday night? Yeah. Not all the time, but certainly sometimes, when the lonely gets too much. The difference is that now I know. Now I’m consciously aware of it and I watch for it. I recognize it when I see the impulse or hear the thought that says “you haven’t had a treat in a while, maybe you should get some chocolate covered almonds tonight”. Now that thought directly translates into, “you’re feeling lonely and unloved and you want to make yourself feel better with some food”. And you know what? Sometimes I oblige. Because the truth is, my life isn’t perfect and it never will be.
Using food to escape from our emotional issues is NEVER going to fulfil us or solve our problems, but almost ALL of us do it from time to time. My point is to make it conscious and recognize that you need to be working towards a long-term solution and becoming aware of the reasons that YOU turn to food for comfort. If you’re emotionally eating more than once a week, it IS going to have a detrimental effect on your health and your self-esteem.
I highly recommend a yearly health reset where you purposely avoid all of those “comfort” foods, not just for the benefit of your physical body, but also to illuminate where you may be turning to food to quell anxiety or calm emotional upsets. When you commit to eating a VERY clean diet for 40 days, you WILL be triggered and you will have the opportunity to discover valuable insights about yourself and how to improve the quality of your life.
So, I do my best to plan activities for myself on weekends now. I’ve gotten involved in groups and I’ve consciously made an effort to cultivate my friendships. I’m learning how to fill my life with the connections that have been missing for as long as I can remember. At the same time, I’m working through my patterns of feeling unloved, unimportant and alone and everything that means and does to me. As a result, my weekend emotional eating has all but fallen away. Every now and then I still get a “hug” from chocolate, but I let it deepen my awareness of what I need to let go of, or embrace in order to live an overall healthier and happier life. I expect food will keep teaching me things about myself for a long-time to come, and I’m okay with that.

You’ve written down your wish list, you know what you want and what date you want it by, and you’ve patiently been waiting for the “stuff” to fall into your lap. So where is it? What’s the missing piece, and why hasn’t it come to you yet? According to the popular philosophy of the Law of Attraction, you haven’t yet allowed it into your life. How do you allow it into your life? You relax, feel more joy, appreciate what you have and choose positive thoughts instead of dwelling on fear or scarcity. This raises your vibration. Your job is to raise your vibration.
How can you possibly focus on joy and appreciation when your life is full of pain, strife, angst or past memories that scare you? You use EFT! We’ve all done plenty of asking, plenty of telling the universe who and what we want in our lives. The missing piece is that we don’t know how to get out of our own way and open the door. Enter EFT.
LAW of ATTRACTION:
The Law of Attraction is ALWAYS working for us. For those of you who’ve seen The Secret, What the Bleep Do We Know, or been following the Abraham-Hicks work, (just to name a few) you know what the Law of Attraction is — the popular term to describe why we have what we have or experience in our lives. It means “like attracts like” no matter what. If you vibrate in fear, you will be delivered more experiences that cause fear. If you vibrate in a joyful place, you will bump into more experiences that bring you joy. Pretend your thoughts and vibrations are like slow moving boomerangs…they always come back to you.
RAISING YOUR VIBRATION:
The theory of this metaphysical “Law” of the Universe states that whatever we are feeling or vibrating (not what we are saying) is what is communicating our energetic “position” or posture to the Universe. The Universe then “hears” this vibration we are emitting, and then matches it by returning to us similar experiences to produce more of the same feeling and vibration. (This is why I have been obsessed with using the Gratitude List and Gratitude Walk that I talk about in my book. When I use these tools along with EFT, I immediately improve my vibration which in turn magnetizes into my life the desires I have been focused on.) Many people misinterpret the principles behind the Law of Attraction, and think they can “fool” the Universe by pretending that they are joyful. This is not possible, as the Universe reads your vibration, not what you say or do.
The key points of this article are:
(1) The Law of Attraction is always operating
(2) The Universe “hears” your vibration/energy/subconscious thoughts not your words
(3) Knowing about this Law allows you to have more power in your life and feel/ be less of a victim
(4) You DO have control over your vibration if you make choices about your thoughts and focus
(5) EFT is one of the fastest and easiest ways to change your vibration
So when you use EFT to release any negativity and conflict in your energy system, you will naturally be vibrating in a more positive, uplifting space. Then the LAW of ATTRACTION, which is always working, will bring you more of the positive things that you have been asking for. It’s a perfect match.
Think about all the pieces of EFT — (1) choosing a specific problem, (2) affirming that you deeply and completely love and accept yourself no matter what, and (3) tapping on the points in your energy system and relieving the stress, tension, and conflict that has been stored there. What a wonderful way to raise your vibration!
What do you want to attract in your life? Professional success, money, love, friendships, joy, peace, spiritual depth, happiness? It’s all available, but you need to know how to control your “vibration” which is in direct communication with the Universe. We need to use the Law of Attraction to our advantage since it’s working 24 hours a day for us anyway. In his serious diseases DVD series, Gary Craig (the Inventor of EFT) described how the hurtful or traumatic events in our lives drain and reduce the effectiveness of our immune system over time. This makes perfect common sense. When we have negative feelings and don’t find ways to relieve or express them, we eventually run our immune systems down and we end up in a compromised physiological place. Then we are a favorable “host” for the flu bug or cold virus circulating in our environment. The same is true for our vibration. When we run ourselves down by focusing on negative thoughts, painful experiences, or upsetting what if’s, we lower our vibration which the Universe then answers. (Remember the image of a slow moving boomerang…)
Using the theory behind the Law of Attraction is NOT a system of blame! It is an explanation of responsibility and an opportunity to take back control of your life and stop being a victim. We have all attracted negative things into our lives from time to time, some more than others. When people argue, “but I didn’t want that bad thing to happen…” you can bet that at some point, and definitely over time, they were inadvertently focusing on negativity, resentment, and probably fear. We all do it, we all attract negative things into our lives, and we are all afraid much of the time…it comes with being human. However, we have many more tools at our disposal now to reduce the fear, transform the powerlessness, and increase our genuine joy. It’s an individual decision whether we want to pick up and practice using these tools or not.
It is also important to note that the Law of Attraction mechanism is carried out by the Universe in a “big picture way.” You don’t have a resentful or fearful thought at 10:00 in the morning, and get a flat tire at noon. It’s about your overall vibration on particular subjects, your accumulated vibration, and this is something you can change and influence in a very short period of time. So consider being patient, believing that what you want is on its way to you, and work on raising your overall vibration. Everyone oversimplifies the issue and manages to turn it around again into victim-hood. “Why did the universe send this to me???” we ask. Because we were pulsing, vibrating, communicating that same level of vibration that was returned to us, on some subtle level in our energy system by focusing on resentment, pain, hurt, anger or feeling powerless. We all do it, we all have done it, and we all will continue to do it in our lives. But now we can choose to do it less, relieve the feelings, take back our power, and harness the incredible power of the Law of Attraction. Remember, this “law” works as often and as predictably as gravity, so it’s up to you what targets you want to offer it. The Law of Attraction has perfect aim.
“I wouldn’t have asked for the flu” you protest… No, you wouldn’t have and neither did I last winter, but I did communicate resistance, tension, fear, and irritation for a long time before I weakened my immune system enough to allow myself to react to the flu bug. In other words, I had to be ready, or a favorable “host” for it. (I also still “expect” to get sick at some point in the winter…another vibration I can work on changing.) Remember, WE ALL DO IT. If any of you are hearing blame, you are not hearing me and what I am saying in this article. We all use the Law of Attraction in our daily life, why not use it for our benefit, rather than to hurt us or slow our progress down?
If you want more in your life to be grateful for, focus on the appreciation you already feel for what and who you have in your life. Try the gratitude list or gratitude walk I talk about in my newsletters, or my gratitude tapping sequences from other articles. This all you need to attract outrageous success and abundance into your life: (1) Law of Attraction, (2) EFT, and (3) An Attitude of Gratitude.
Try a marathon of gratitude tapping and measure how you feel afterwards, and what tail-enders surface. Start by addressing the genuine mood or feeling state you feel right now, then move into appreciation and gratitude.
Using EFT and LOA TOGETHER:
So the million dollar question I answer a dozen times a week through emails, and hundreds of times in my Law of Attraction workshops is …But EFT makes you focus on the negative, won’t that make you attract more negativity into your life and make things worse?
Good question. I have studied, experimented, pondered and come to the conclusion that the answer is a resounding “NO.” After 10 years of doing EFT, I can safely say that my personal and professional experiments have determined that EFT and the Law of Attraction are a perfect match. We need to STOP TRYING TO RESIST OUR REAL FEELINGS. EFT allows us to name them, feel them, and release them. Once this step is done, you are in a vibrational position to allow into your life (or magnetize) what you want.
When we use EFT and target an emotion (what I call the truth) you have pinpointed the feeling that is causing your vibration anyway… you are already feeling that way, so why not call it what it is? EFT is effective in direct proportion to the “truth” you are able to tell and the bullseyes you are able to hit. So instead of saying “I’m upset with her” I recommend you say words that more deeply resonate with the truth: I feel enraged at what she did and it wasn’t fair. This allows you get more of a “hit” and more of a positive result with EFT as you have nailed it on the head. EFT is the fastest tool I have ever come across to identify, address and clear an issue and find immediate relief. The event itself doesn’t change, but your experience, memory, and perception of it and emotions about it change. What more could we ask for?
And when you feel relief, the Law of Attraction is “listening” and allows into your life (by sending you) more of what you were asking for, whether it is relationships, money, opportunities or clients.
FEELING vs. PRETENDING:
When the real feeling (the one you’ve been trying to hide in your daily life) is finally addressed with EFT and soothed in your thoughts, mind, and body, you free yourself to vibrate in a more grateful, peaceful, joyful place, to which Law of Attraction then responds and adds more joy and more reasons for gratitude. Consider this… (1) People think that just because they’re pretending they don’t hate their boss, that they’re not exuding anger or vibrating negativity and resistance. Humans are very transparent, so our feelings “show.”
(2) People think a few seconds of EFT where they focus on a “negative” feeling is an eternity. They ignore the fact that they have spent 23 hours pushing hard against a feeling of fear, then worry about a few seconds of EFT. When they are asked to focus on the negative feelings, there is a direct connection to their vibration. This allows the deep feeling to finally be relieved. It’s very quick…there is no wallowing in EFT…
(3) EFT allows you to clear the decks which makes space for peace and joy in your life. So once again, it’s all about relief. Even saying well-formed setup phrases allow people to feel more joyful and relaxed. When you feel relieved, the “stuff” you have “asked for” receives an invitation to show up for you, through many unusual channels. When you use EFT to get relief, you instantly vibrate in a better place, and voila, the manifestations start to appear. What stuff? Relationships, money, career opportunities, love, peace, coincidences, guidance, serendipity etc., you name it. I have actually had to stop some of my own “experiments” as I haven’t quite caught up yet with what I am receiving.
So stop pretending you aren’t hurt by what happened. Stop pretending that you’ve forgiven everyone when the truth is you’re seething mad inside. The Universe hears your vibration, not your words. Use EFT to target the feelings and release them once and for all, and allow peace into your life.
Once you have cleared the negativity with EFT, you can be assured you have opened the door a little more to let into your life whatever you have been asking for, writing about, and visualizing.
Using EFT in this way allows you to release the real pain instead of spending all that energy trying not to feel hurt! Now you will be in an emotional and energetic position to feel more grateful and allow yourself to feel relief and joy.
Fear definitely keeps you in a lower vibration and delays the magnetization of what you want. I find that EFT is the easiest way to relieve this feeling and change your focus. Remember, when you change your focus, you vibrate in a different place, and attract different (more positive) things into your life.
A client of mine was very afraid of her negative thoughts but she spent most of her waking hours using tricks and affirmations to try and help her push away the fear and push away these thoughts. This always backfires, as she spent all her energy actually focused on the negativity rather than on something positive by trying so hard NOT to think about these feelings. This of course means she was ultimately focused on her fears anyway, as all her waking hours were spent trying not to be fearful!
When you allow yourself to voice your real feelings, you are able to gently guide yourself into more positive statements and vibrations. If you find that you object to “positive” statements, you will hear “tail-enders” surface such as “no I’m not” or “that’s not true” or something that counters the positive statements. This is good news! You now have more information and targets for tapping. When tail-enders surface, be happy you are getting to the core issues!
Of course the feeling of powerlessness is overwhelming and lowers our vibration immediately. Usually it is perceived powerlessness, rather than actual powerlessness, but it doesn’t matter, it’s the feeling that counts, not the reality of the situation! For those of us who suffer from feelings of powerlessness, we need to find ways to feel more powerful, and using EFT is a wonderful tool.
In closing, ask yourself how quickly you want to manifest more of your desires, small and large. If you are eager to manifest them sooner rather than later, I highly recommend using EFT to clear the blocks and neutralize the limiting beliefs. This will allow all that you have been asking for to come in your front door. Remember, the Law of Attraction is always working, but with EFT, we help it work for us and not against us.
I want to tell you about a client of mine. She’s a lovely lady that’s 83 years young. She raised a number of beautiful, successful children, has run many successful businesses, and has fantastic taste and a flair for philanthropy. She’s a woman ahead of her time. She taught me the difference between an ipod and an MP3 player. I’m not kidding. She’s smart, beautiful and wise.
And she hates her belly.
She bemoans the flaps under her arms.
She’s sick to death of her thighs.
And that makes me want to cry. This is what we all have to look forward to ladies. If you’ve been thinking that you’d miraculously stop obsessing over the shape and size of your body when you turned 40, or 50, or 80, think again!
I for one have had enough. Enough of society telling me I need to look a certain way to be accepted, or to even accept myself. I’ve had enough of airbrushing, and size 6 actresses playing “fat girls”. I’ve had it with out-of-shape, unattractive TV husbands (even the CARTOONS) having beautiful, thin wives just because it’s more pleasing to people. Personally, I’ve had enough of lamenting over the size of my thighs and constantly comparing myself to other women. I’ve had enough of thinking my life would be better if only I fit into a size 2. More than anything, I’ve had enough of hearing wonderful, intelligent, talented and beautiful women spend so much time and energy on getting rid of their cellulite.
I mean, really? We’re spending billions of dollars on a weight-loss industry that DOOMS us to failure! In fact, much of it is DESIGNED to fail! Let’s face it ladies, they’re counting on us being REPEAT customers! Think about the last year. How many diet books did you buy? How much of your time was spent thinking about, preparing for or following a diet? How much money did you spend on fitness videos, equipment or gym memberships you barely used? How about diet pills? Did you go out and get some raspberry ketones when Dr. OZ talked about them? Now think about the past five years. Depressed yet?
I think it’s time to step off this wheel of pain and torment, don’t you?
I think it’s time to stop wasting time on changing our bodies for the sake of fitting in or being accepted. I think it’s time to stop comparing ourselves to other women and start appreciating all the varying types of body shapes. I think it’s time to start focusing on moving and eating for health, energy, happiness and longevity instead of the number on the scale. I think it’s time we stopped giving a rip what everybody else thinks about our bodies, good, bad or otherwise and just started loving ourselves.
I think it’s time we started taking care of ourselves because it’s important to US.
And I believe that’s how we manifest TRUE beauty. I believe that when our outer bodies become a reflection of internal love and acceptance we radiate and vibrate at a different frequency. That frequency is light, its love, its confidence and security. And it draws people to us like moths to a flame. Some would call it charm or charisma; I call it connection to who you really are.
When you come to a place of loving and accepting yourself so completely that you no longer need the acceptance or approval of others, you are truly free. I know it sounds backwards, but you have to release your need to be accepted in order to be completely accepted.
That’s why I designed this program. I want you to be free. Free from the expectations of others. Free from negative self-talk and low self-esteem. Free from needing approval. Free to be the beautiful being you already are!
Here’s what you can expect from my 90-day program:
- You’ll be able to clearly hear that self-sabotaging, often subconscious, critical voice that tells you you’re no good or too fat!
- You’ll be able to evaluate with absolute clarity whether that voice is telling you the truth or not
- You’ll be able to have a dialog with that voice and convince it to change it’s tune and help support you instead of put you down
- You’ll create crystal clear awareness of what to do next when that voice shows up and how to clear it for good
- You’ll be able to see how and why you created negative patterns of thinking about yourself and your body based on the people, circumstances and events in your life
- You’ll be able to powerfully decide whether or not you want those things to continue to control you and your body
- You’ll learn how to release the past experiences that are still impacting your relationship with your body
- You’ll learn how to release those negative thoughts and feelings about your body that you’ve been holding on to
- You’ll learn the true definition of success and failure and where you fit into it
- You’ll learn to release the critical self-talk that may be held in place for you by trauma or fear
- You’ll learn to let go of your primal fat patterning that thousands of years of evolution has programmed you with
- You’ll learn how to identify and release any limiting beliefs about you and your body such as “everyone gains weight after having kids” or “it’s impossible to lose weight after menopause!”
- You’ll learn how to identify and release any way that your relationship to your parents or first family may still be subconsciously impacting your body image
- You’ll consciously decide what you want to believe about yourself and your body and install those new beliefs
- You’ll enhance your new vibration about your body and anchor it in place so it becomes your new default
- You’ll learn to use the power of your mind to create your preferred reality.
As a result of that intensive work you will open the door to:
- More confidence in your body and your self
- A deeper appreciation for yourself
- A newfound clarity about the ideals of society and how you choose to react to them
- A clean slate on the past experiences that have been shaping your body
- An ability to step into empowering decisions about who you are and who you choose to be
- Absolutely loving your body and taking care of it because you want to
- A gradual shift towards a healthier body that reflects your inner love and beauty
Here’s what your program includes:
- 12 hours of One on One Coaching delivered over 90 days with yours truly where we’ll reset your faulty programming. We’ll find your limiting beliefs and annihilate them. We’ll uncover the circumstances in your life that have contributed to your poor body image or low self-esteem and turn them into gifts that empower you and show you who you really are!
- Expert, indivualized advice on the food, supplement and exercise regimen that is best for your health and longevity.
- Access to recordings from my popular Overcoming Self-Sabotage and Emotional Eating Program
- The Overcoming Self-Sabotage and Emotional Eating Workbook to help you turn over “every stone” of possible blocks to living the fullest version of yourself.
- TONS of done-for-you materials to help you on your journey such as tapping scripts, limiting belief checklists, possible traumas for clearing checklist, and how to visualize instructions.
- BONUS Mp3 audios such as the EFT for Negative Body Emotions and Paraliminals Ideal Weight Re-Programmer.
And just to be sure you’re still moving with the momentum we’ll build together, you’ll also get:
- Two one on one follow-up sessions with me to reinforce your NEW healthy-body vibration
I’m sure you’d agree, the long-term benefits of a more confident, healthy you are invaluable! How much longer are you willing to go through life not really living? How long will you suffer, telling yourself that you’re weak and a failure because you can’t lose weight? How many parties will you miss because you don’t want everyone to see how “fat” you are?
Do you want to be 83, with a lifetime of accomplishments under your belt and still be lamenting about your thighs?
It’s time to end your suffering once and for all. We both know diets don’t work. It’s so pointless to starve yourself and deprive yourself when you know you can’t eat that way forever. Besides, you’ve tried that approach, multiple times right? It’s just not the answer.
But COACHING is SO different. Having someone to hold your hand (or kick your ass if you prefer), cheer you on and give you the tools you need to be successful is THE KEY to making this the LAST TIME you’ll find yourself in that self-loathing place, desperate to lose weight.
That’s why I wanted to make this program EASY for you to say “yes” to with this incredible savings. If you invest in full, your program investment is only:
$1497!! You’d pay WAY more for one of the popular diet programs out there, and you wouldn’t even get the mindset shifts that lead to a permanently healthy body! Your results would be TEMPORARY!
I don’t want you to wait one second longer before you start feeling better about your body. That’s why, when you invest in yourself today, I’m going to give you another SPECIAL BONUS!
When I receive your full-payment investment in the program, I’ll personally send you THE LOVE YOUR BODY MORNING RITUAL Audio Recording. This short, but powerful audio will help you get out of bed on the right foot every morning and SPEED up the vibrational shifts of feeling good about yourself and your body so you can start manifesting what you want RIGHT AWAY!
If you need a payment plan option I have that too.
Payment Option #2
Three monthly payments of $567
If you’re ready to do the work that really counts vs. counting calories and killing yourself with boring exercise, please fill out the application, email it to email@example.com and request your complimentary discovery session and we’ll decide together if this program is a fit for you. There is NO obligation in filling out the application. In fact, I’d encourage you to fill it out even if you don’t believe the program is match for you. The transformation process often begins as a result of asking yourself some searching questions like these ones!
If you’re super excited to get started, go ahead and register now, if after having a look at your application, I don’t believe you’re a good fit for the program (which is highly unlikely if you’re that motivated) I’ll completely refund your money!
About Your Coach
I’m Ellie Steele and I’ve been helping women overcome a negative body image for over ten years. My own journey is probably much like your own and you can read all about it here. I am a registered holistic nutritionist, a personal trainer, an emotional freedom technique practitioner, a 3rd degree Reiki practitioner, a law of attraction and spirituality coach.
It is my passion to help women break free from negative self-talk and see their true beauty so they can begin to manifest EVERYTHING they deserve in life!
I’d be honored and thrilled to welcome you to my program!
If you made a commitment to change at the beginning of 2013, but are having a hard go of it, consider these tips to start moving you in a more positive direction. ..
1) Put it in writing.
Making a formal commitment to yourself and putting it in writing helps you get really clear about what you what and how you’re going to get it.
Write down all the reasons you want to change your habits, and try to phrase them in positive terms. For example, “so I can play with the kids” would be better than “because I don’t have the energy to play with the kids”.
Next write down what you’re committing to. Are you going to work out three times per week? For how long? Are you trying to reach a specific goal? What will you do when you reach that goal, what will you do if you don’t?
2) Get involved with a group.
If you just can’t find the internal motivation to push yourself, or even get to the gym then a little external motivation might be in order.
Group training is a fun way to push yourself, meet some new friends and pick up some fitness pointers you would otherwise miss out on. There’s nothing like a shared pain experience to forge lifelong friendships. If you’re in the Kingston area, check out CrossFit Kingston and come work out with me!
3) Make Yourself a Deal.
If you don’t feel like going to the gym, make yourself a deal. Tell yourself you’re only going to put on your exercise clothes and if you still don’t want to go, you won’t. Sometimes it just takes the initial effort of getting over the inertia to completely change your attitude.
4) Get a workout buddy.
A study of 3000 women revealed that 61% find it almost impossible to summon up the energy to exercise alone. However, the same proportion admitted that they push themselves harder if they have company.
Exercising together has the added benefit of bringing you closer to a friend too. More than half of those surveyed thought working out with a mate had improved their relationship.
5) Throw out your scale
Find ways to measure your progress other than the weight on the scale. Monitoring your weight alone can be very deceiving, especially when you begin strength training. Often people will increase their muscle mass, while simultaneously burning fat. That means you are getting leaner and healthier, but the weight on the scale might not show a change. If fat loss is your goal, pay attention to how your clothes are fitting or track inches lost rather than the number on the scale. An even better method is to track parameters of fitness, health and well-being rather than bodyweight.
Some other things you can track to monitor your progress include:
-resting heart rate
-before and after pictures
-the weights you are lifting (how much, how many reps etc.)
-your 500M sprint rowing time or other specific distance for time measurement, like your 5k walk or run time.
6) If you fail to plan, you can plan to fail!
One of the biggest obstacles to sticking to a fitness plan is time management. We all have the same number of hours in the day, so saying you can’t find the time is a weak excuse.
Look at your schedule on a weekly basis and figure out when you are going to workout. That may mean you have to get up an hour earlier a couple of days per week to make it work, but knowing that at the beginning of the week makes it much more likely that it will happen. Sacrifices will have to be made.
If you only have a vague idea of when you’ll workout, but then something comes up, or you’re tired after a long day, you’ll skip it every time. If you keep an appointment book, schedule your sessions just like you would any other important appointment and KEEP it.
7) Don’t overdo it.
If you are new to exercise, or haven’t worked out since high school you’re going to want to ease back into it.
Delayed on-set muscle soreness, or DOMS as it’s loving referred to by trainers, explains the sore, stiff muscles you usually have the day after you exercise intensely, or at all, if it’s been a while. By getting into the swing of things a little more gradually you can largely prevent that and you won’t be so sore that you can’t sit on the toilet without screaming in agony for two weeks.
A nice long stretch and a protein shake with fish oil and glutamine after your workout can go a long way to preventing soreness.
8) Hire a personal trainer.
The top 3% of achievers recognize when they need an expert to take them to the next level of achievement. They then hire said expert and do what said expert tells them to do.
If you want to go it alone, that’s fine. Ask questions, read books and get a plan, but don’t fumble around in the dark. If you want to make your life easier and get results quicker, then hire a professional like the top 3% do.
9) Train for performance.
Find a sport you like and register for an event. I can’t tell you how my fitness changed when I started training for firefit vs. training for health or to change the shape of my body. Find some sort of challenge, a 5K run, a mini-triathalon, a CrossFit competition or something else that will put at risk of public humiliation and SIGN UP! It’s a powerful motivator.
10) Appease the lizard.
Keep in mind that change is frightening to your lizard brain. As illogical as it may seem, there is a part of you that would prefer to keep doing what you’ve always done because it’s familiar and therefore safe. It may totally suck, and it may be taking you down the path to poor health, low self-esteem and misery, but the lizard doesn’t see or care about that…it’s all about here and now. This is just one of the ways that EFT and other ways of accessing and re-programming the subconscious mind can help make change painless.
I’m really excited about this new project and I hope you’ll take full advantage of it!
I created this new teleseminar series for TWO reasons:
1) Once my clients see the power of EFT and the positive thinking inherent in Law of Attraction teachings, they generally express frustration to me that they know they should be tapping/visualizing on a regular basis, but for some reason (ahem, self-sabotage) they just don’t make it part of their regular routine.
2) I’ve also encountered people that are new to EFT and Law of Attraction and are curious about one or both, but aren’t sure how to really apply them effectively in their own life and need some hands-on help to learn how to use the techniques and teachings to their full advantage.
If you fall into either of those categories, then this series is for you!
There is also the added bonus of being part of a group of like-minded individuals that are all taking action towards releasing the blocks, seeing through our egos and becoming the highest versions of ourselves. Group consciousness is a powerful force and we’ll be setting intentions for all of us and the rest of the planet too!
My name is Ellie Steele. I am an advanced EFT practitioner, a Law of Attraction Coach, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, a third-degree Reiki practitioner and a personal fitness trainer. In short, I’ve picked up a thing or two in the twelve years that I’ve been practicing holistic health and I have a very unique method of combining EFT, LOA, spirituality, nutrition and fitness to really give my clients an edge that helps them overcome self-sabotage and release stubborn egoic patterns once and for all.
