What are GREENS food concentrates?
Each teaspoon of a greens food concentrate contains the nutrient equivalent to 6-8 servings of fresh vegetables. That makes it ideal for people that have difficulty consuming the daily requirement, and gives an extra boost to those that don’t.
Fruits and vegetables are our richest sources of minerals, vitamins, and antioxidants that are desperately needed by our cells for proper function. Many diseases today have nutritional deficiencies at their root, therefore consuming plenty of nutrients in this natural, easy-to-absorb form can prevent many of the diseases of aging.
These compounds are also necessary for energy production, and often energy levels are increased when people consume a greens drink.
The antioxidants that a greens food powder contains will combat the free radicals that are naturally produced when we exercise or are under a lot of stress. Combating free radicals leads to faster recovery and slower aging as well.
Due to their rich mineral content, vegetables and especially concentrated greens powders are excellent at buffering acidity. Most people in North America suffer from internal acidity due to the large number of foods we eat that leave an acidic ash in our bodies. Acidity is a major contributor to osteoporosis, joint difficulties, muscle loss and a whole host of chronic diseases including cancer. Taking a greens drink daily will help offset the acidity that is created from eating a diet containing dairy foods, meats, grains, sugar and alcohol.
How much do I take?
1 teaspoon per day is all you need. 2 teaspoons per day is great if you are ill, under a lot of stress or train at the athlete level(more than 8 hours per week).
When do I take it?
Put it in your post-workout to maximize recovery and nutrient absorption. Greens food powders do not have negative side effects. If you have an allergy to something the greens contains, that could cause a reaction.
